Let’s start with the 4-point teaser alternate line of the Bucks at -5.5 at Charlotte. However, there is a potential workaround for a teaser-type parlay across different sports. Points have different values in different sports so that a blanket 3-point teaser would be a normal teaser in basketball or football but a total gamechanger in hockey, soccer or baseball. They can’t be applied across different sports either. Moneyline bets can’t be used in a teaser because there’s no way to “tease” a team winning a game without turning into a spread. Parlays can be used across different sports and all kinds of different lines (as long as they aren’t correlated bets). The payout is on a $10 wager is now $36.16, which is slightly higher than before because the base over bet has slightly higher-paying odds at -109 instead of the Celtics against the spread being -113. Throw in the same 4-point teaser from above, and the line is now 212.5. Let’s take the same teaser from above, but with the over in the Boston-Oklahoma City game (216.5) instead of the Celtics against the spread. They can be totals or a combination of both. Teasers don’t have to be on spreads either. As with parlays, a push on any leg will remove that bet from the odds of the teaser. Every leg of the bet has to win in order for the bet to cash. Once the bet is placed with the alternate lines and odds, the bet works like a parlay. Different sportsbooks offer different numbers on teasers, and there’s a variety to pick from. It could be three, five, seven or whatever is offered. You really better be confident in your bets to ask them to all cover the original spread by four points, but the payout on a $10 wager would be $184.69. For example, the reverse 4-point teaser would look like this: Portland -9.5, Milwaukee -13.5 and Boston -15. It’s possible to get a better payout but tougher lines.

That’s less than half the payout of the regular parlay. Easier numbers to work with for the favorites, but the payout on that $10 teaser would change to $32.20.

How would that same parlay look like a 4-point teaser? That would mean Portland would be -1.5, Milwaukee would be -5.5 and Boston would be -7. What if you didn’t feel comfortable with some of those lines and wanted some extra breathing room? That’s what a teaser can do.Ī teaser version of that parlay would change the spreads. So a $10 wager on that parlay would give a $68.69 payout, including the original $10. Portland and Milwaukee are both getting -110 odds and Boston is -113. It’s an NBA parlay taking Portland -5.5 at Indiana, Milwaukee -9.5 at Charlotte and Boston -11 against Oklahoma City. Let’s use a regular parlay as a starting point.
